lyrics

The decrepit hollow shell of a man once sane with humanity
Now an exoskeleton of sin and skin and inhumane thoughts and flesh
Held together by a tissue of hope
But you can see the regret and fear in the fold, pits and scars of his face
Sad from the eternal come down that has eaten away his innards
It’s the brood of thought that his parents have planted within him
That have now cracked their shells
And the larvae have eaten him empty from inside out
Leaving only a single layer to hide behind
Hollowed out by the fear imbedded in his mind
His left hand grips onto the life he has left
It’s in the shape of a little black book

Hollowed out by the fear imbedded in his mind
His left handgrips onto the life he has left
It’s in the shape of a little black book
He has the anorexic hands of a killer, long stretching fingers much like a pianist
With protruding tendons and knuckles and every vein pumps his anxiety
A verbal bulimic, swallowing phrases
And spurting them out again in vomit speech
Suggestion of contemporary living in phobia-faith
Psalms from that life he grips onto
That life in the form of a little black book with the golden trim
